Accessibility

Accessibility

Leo's Library Services and Bonham Academy are committed to providing access to library facilities and collections for people with disabilities. Whenever possible, the library will select and acquire resources and technologies that are accessible to all in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Facility Accessibility

The library is located on the second floor of the main building. Patrons can come and go easily through its double doors. â€‹ Faculty, staff, and students can enjoy the use of a room with its own double door entrance at the back of the library as well as the main library space.

Research Assistance

When the librarian is not teaching class lessons about research or other literacy-related topics, the librarian will be available to assist patrons with their research. â€‹

Access to Print or Online Materials

Our catalog provides accessible electronic versions of library materials for students and employees with print disabilities.

Some materials deemed not age-appropriate for young children will be kept in a separate location.  Older more mature (Middle school) students may use these materials as needed.

Access to Course Materials

Contact Leo's Library Services for additional assistance in captioning or document conversion services for course-related materials

If you have any questions or concerns regarding accessibility at the Bonham Academy, contact Leo Moreno or Patricia Del Toro, Librarians.

Internet Access

Policy Statement:

In agreement with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) regulations, all library workstations use filtering software to access the internet. SAISD provides the library with enough bandwidth to support student learning while they are at the library.

Policy Specifics:

Supervision of the child's internet access will be monitored by the classroom teacher and the librarian. However, the library does not have the right or responsibility to act in loco parentis (on behalf of the parent/guardian).

Internet filters include visual certain visual depictions that are obscene, child pornography, or harmful to minors. All library patrons are prohibited from intentional or knowing display of such materials while being reckless about whether a person, especially a minor, is present who will be offended or alarmed by the display.  No filtering software can control access to all materials that an individual seems inappropriate for their children. Children are instructed to call an adult when they suspect something inappropriate on their computer.

Users are prohibited from unauthorized reproduction or distribution of copyrighted materials, except as permitted by the principles of “Fair use” under the U.S. copyright law. Users may not copy or distribute electronic materials (including electronic mail, text, images, programs or data) without the explicit permission of the copyright holder.

Any responsibility for any consequences of copyright infringement lies with the user; the Library expressly disclaims any liability or responsibility resulting from such use.
