For the past couple of months, I have been exploring the use of digital technology for the classroom/library with apps and sites such as Wix Blog, Bloglovin’, Easel.ly, Piktochart, Infogram Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Videoproc, Camcastia, YouTube, QR codes, Fotojet, Pixton, Makebeliefs Comix, PodBean, Soundcloud, and Buzzsprout, Pixabay, Pexels, and Final Cut Pro.
The apps that I loved the most were Camcastia, Pixton because not only were they easy to use but, they allowed for individuality and creativity.
The app that was the most difficult for me was Final Cut Pro. Even though I am used to making movies with iMovie, I was unable to get the Final Cut Pro to function the way I wanted to add filters, adding multiple tracks, or downloading my final video easily.
What I enjoyed most about this class were the exploratory topics that allowed me to create several blogs which I in turn shared with my Twitter and Facebook Library Page. I felt like a positive influencer on library services in the midst of a chaotic Pandemic and civil unrest.
As I work on my teaching craft in regards to Univeral Design for learning, what I hope to implement with my students this coming school year is podcasting. This would be a great outlet for my talkative students to share their voices. For my shy students who just need that extra push, I will implement Comcastia so they can show what they learned without having to step into the fear of public speaking zone. I will definitely add comic strips to the writing curriculum to help students develop stories with a clear plot. Finally, I hope to implement new methods of evaluation in order to elicit more student creativity.
